Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced an extension of its collaboration with Tata Communications to enhance the connectivity of its next-generation vehicles through the Tata Communications MOVE™ platform. The partnership aims to enable seamless and continuous connectivity for JLR vehicles, even in remote areas across 120 countries.

The MOVE™ platform will integrate with JLR’s upcoming medium-sized SUVs, set to debut in 2026, which are built on the company’s new Electric Modular Architecture. The platform supports seamless transitions between mobile networks and operators, allowing features like media streaming and over-the-air (SOTA) software updates.

Currently, JLR’s connected vehicle fleet generates approximately 2.5 terabytes of data daily and updates 500,000 electronic control units monthly. Leveraging the Tata Communications MOVE™ platform will expand this capability, providing real-time vehicle performance monitoring, enhanced data security, and efficient vehicle maintenance through prompt updates.

Key features of the collaboration include:

  • Improved wireless communication technologies for vehicle tracking.
  • Enhanced frequency and efficiency of SOTA updates for diagnostics and maintenance.
  • Simplified connectivity plans through a single provider.
  • Tailored services for continuous access to preferred applications and features globally.

Marco Bijvelds, Vice President at Tata Communications, highlighted the potential for this partnership to support advanced driving features and enable new revenue streams through personalized customer experiences.

Mark Brogden, JLR’s Director of Digital Product Platform Off-Board, stated that the initiative aligns with the company’s goal of delivering secure and cost-effective connectivity solutions for luxury vehicles, beginning with the 2026 SUV lineup.

This development is part of JLR’s broader digital transformation strategy, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence-driven services and universal vehicle connectivity to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
