Tata Motors filed 250 patents and 148 design applications in FY25, its highest number in a single financial year. The filings span multiple manufacturing and product innovation areas, including vehicle systems such as battery technology, powertrain, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and emission control.
The company also filed 81 copyright applications and received 68 patent grants during the year, bringing its total number of granted patents to 918. According to the company, the filings are aligned with developments in connectivity, electrification, sustainability, safety, hydrogen-based vehicles, and fuel cells.
Tata Motors stated that it received five intellectual property-related recognitions during the year in India and abroad.
