ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions division has secured a multi-year order to supply several thousand units of its AxTrax 2 electric axle to a manufacturer in India. The electric axles will be integrated into a new fleet of zero-emission intercity buses.
The AxTrax 2 system replaces the engine, transmission, and traditional axle, delivering 210 kW of continuous power. It is part of ZF’s modular e-mobility kit, combining multiple in-house components into a compact and axle-based electrification solution for commercial vehicles.
This marks the introduction of the AxTrax 2 in the Indian market, where it will be used to support the transition of intercity buses to electric drivetrains.
Peter Laier, ZF Board Member and head of the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division, stated, “This nomination demonstrates how leading manufacturers across the globe are increasingly attracted to our comprehensive technology portfolio.” He added, “We are delighted to support our customers in this transition.”
ZF continues to expand its presence in India’s commercial vehicle electrification segment through such supply agreements.
