SEG Automotive has inaugurated a semi-automated high voltage (HV) stator production line at its manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The new line is designed to operate without manual intervention and is intended to enhance the precision and efficiency of stator production.

The development represents a shift toward increased automation in the company’s manufacturing process. According to SEG Automotive, the implementation of the semi-automated line is aimed at improving production consistency and aligning with evolving technological standards in the electric mobility sector.

The launch event was attended by representatives from Switch Mobility, including Tilak Ahuja and Gurusaran Singh, along with SEG Automotive Managing Director Anil Kumar.

SEG Automotive is an automotive component manufacturer headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. It originated from the starter motors and generators division of the Bosch Group, which became an independent entity in 2018 under the ownership of Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery Group Co. The company operates in 14 countries and employs approximately 6,500 people, supplying various automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide. SEG Automotive’s product portfolio includes starter motors, generators, and electrification solutions such as high-voltage motors and mild hybrid systems. The company allocates about 10–12% of its annual sales turnover to research and development and new technologies. In India, SEG Automotive has manufacturing facilities in Bangalore, Hosur, and Hassan, focusing on both traditional and electric mobility components.
