Uno Minda Limited, a supplier automotive components and systems, has completed the acquisition of the e‑Drives business assets in Vietnam from Friwo Vietnam Company Limited. The transaction was executed via its wholly owned step‑down subsidiary, Minda Industries Vietnam Company Limited, and finalized on 22 July 2025.
This deal marks part of Uno Minda’s broader international expansion strategy in electric‑vehicle components. Earlier in July, the company also acquired e‑drive IP, control‑hardware, service‑software, and the R&D team in Germany from Friwo Group.
Uno Minda (formerly Minda Industries Limited) supplies automotive components and systems to OEMs of internal‑combustion and electric‑vehicle platforms. The company operates over 75 manufacturing plants and 37 research & development centres globally—including facilities in India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
It supports product development through joint ventures, such as its collaboration with Japan’s Onkyo Corporation for infotainment and automotive audio systems.
Uno Minda’s aftermarket network spans over 600 districts and more than 7,000 pin‑codes in India, offering a portfolio of 25+ product categories.
These acquisitions enhance Uno Minda’s EV drivetrain capability and position the company for stronger presence in Southeast Asia and beyond, enabling independent, in‑house innovation and scalability.
