ZF Group has inaugurated a new digital development hub in Bengaluru, Karnataka, focused on its fleet orchestration Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, SCALAR. The facility spans 33,300 sq. ft and will house approximately 250 employees working on product development for domestic and global projects.

The Bengaluru hub will support development across cloud, data, artificial intelligence, and mobile technologies. The team will have full product ownership responsibilities, including product management, UX/UI design, and engineering, to advance SCALAR’s capabilities for fleet management. SCALAR currently connects over 150,000 vehicles in India, providing real-time insights for planning, routing, scheduling, and dispatching.

“This is our largest digital development hub outside Europe. This hub not only signifies our expanding engineering footprint, but it also symbolizes the acceleration of our innovation and agility,” said P. Kaniappan, Senior Vice President, Div CVS (India), ZF Group.

“With SCALAR, we are shaping the future of fleet management. Our new Bengaluru hub brings together engineers, data scientists, designers, and product leaders to turn unique vehicle data into real-world solutions,” said Hjalmar Van Raemdonck, Vice President, SCALAR.

“The ZF Bengaluru office is where talented teams will work on end-to-end solutions offered as a part of our SCALAR platform for connected mobility. This office will develop solutions that will shape the future of transportation with technological advancements, while delivering value to our customers worldwide,” stated Akash Passey, President of ZF Group in India.

The Bengaluru development hub is designed to be serverless, which the company states will support cost efficiency and increased agility in delivering SCALAR-based solutions. SCALAR’s platform includes tools for predictive maintenance, driver behavior analysis, and performance monitoring to support fleet operators in reducing unplanned downtime and improving operational efficiency.
