Tembo Defence Products Private Limited, a group company of Tembo Global Industries Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Maharashtra to develop a defence manufacturing facility in the state. The signing took place during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The planned facility aims to bolster indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities as part of India’s “Make in India” initiative. According to the press release, this venture is intended to enhance domestic production in the sector and strengthen the nation’s defence preparedness.

The facility is expected to contribute to creating job opportunities and advancing technological innovation within the defence sector. The collaboration also aligns with broader goals of fostering self-sufficiency in India’s defence manufacturing and securing the supply chain.

Tembo Global Industries Limited was established in 2010 and specializes in the production of metal components for various industrial systems, alongside diversified interests in the defence and renewable energy sectors.

This announcement reflects a strategic partnership between the company and the Government of Maharashtra, aimed at supporting the state’s industrial and security infrastructure.
