NITEQ Netherlands, a provider of rail handling solutions, and RENMAKCH India, a railway equipment manufacturer, have delivered and commissioned a broad gauge battery-powered rail-cum-road shunter at Siemens India Visakhapatnam Locomotive Maintenance Workshop, Andhra Pradesh.

The company has also delivered similar shunters to other customers in India. The shunters were jointly developed and manufactured under a bilateral collaboration between NITEQ and RENMAKCH.

Thomas ter Berg, Managing Director of NITEQ Netherlands, visited the sites alongside the RENMAKCH team to inspect the projects. The visit included equipment inspections, customer interactions, and discussions on potential system upgrades.

The collaboration highlights areas such as technology transfer, sustainability, and innovation. The battery-powered shunters are intended to support railway modernization efforts while addressing environmental and manufacturing priorities in India.
