Alpha Tocol Engineering Services Private Ltd has delivered the first rear fuselage for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The handover event took place at HAL’s Aircraft Division in Bengaluru, with defence officials and industry representatives in attendance.
The rear fuselage, a key structural component supporting the tail section, is among the major modules supplied by private firms for the LCA Mk1A program. HAL has previously manufactured 12 rear fuselages for the aircraft, which are in various stages of assembly. The integration of this privately manufactured module will contribute to HAL’s production schedule, supporting deliveries to the Indian Air Force starting in 2025-26.
HAL has placed orders with multiple Indian private companies, including L&T, Alpha Tocol Engineering Services, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), VEM Technologies, and Lakshmi Mission Works (LMW), to supply structural modules for the 83 LCA Mk1A contract.
The event was attended by senior officials from HAL, Alpha Tocol, L&T, TASL, VEM Technologies, and LMW, along with representatives from the Indian Air Force.
