Bharat Forge Limited has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 184 Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems (ATAGS). The order accounts for 60% of the MoD’s total procurement valued at INR 69 billion (approximately USD 830 million).

The ATAGS is a 155mm/52-caliber artillery system developed jointly by Bharat Forge and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The contract was formalized in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Bharat Forge Chairman and Managing Director Baba Kalyani, Vice-Chairman and Joint Managing Director Amit Kalyani, and Neelesh Tungar, Whole-Time Director and CEO of Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited.

Baba Kalyani stated, “We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support of the MoD, the Indian Army, DRDO, ARDE, and our team at Bharat Forge for their invaluable efforts and collaboration.”

Bharat Forge Limited, headquartered in Pune, operates across multiple industries, including defence, aerospace, automotive, power, oil and gas, and construction. The company has manufacturing facilities in five countries and provides engineering, manufacturing, and validation services to global clients.

The contract marks a significant development in domestic artillery production, with deliveries expected as per the MoD’s acquisition schedule.
