Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd, has announced plans to collaborate with US defense companies AM General and Mandus Group LLC to co-develop and co-produce next-generation artillery gun platforms. The collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for modern light artillery systems by global militaries.

The companies will focus on the development of 105mm and 155mm artillery systems, designed to offer enhanced firepower, precision strikes, and tactical mobility. These platforms will be built for all-weather, all-terrain operations and will incorporate technology aimed at improving survivability and reducing logistics requirements. The systems will be lightweight, modular, and capable of delivering both mobility and firepower.

The joint effort seeks to create artillery systems equipped with disruptive technology, designed to meet evolving combat needs with enhanced command and control capabilities. The artillery platforms are expected to be transportable, rugged, and optimized for smaller crew sizes.

John Chadbourne, Executive Vice President of Business Development at AM General, stated that the partnership would work toward delivering advanced mobile artillery capabilities, reflecting the need to adapt to changing battlefield conditions. The collaboration will explore various options for co-production and technological integration.

Bharat Forge’s ongoing expansion in artillery platform development aligns with broader industry efforts to meet the requirements of modern armies. This announcement comes as part of the company’s wider strategy to increase its presence in global defense markets.
