Haier Appliances India has expanded its manufacturing operations at its Greater Noida plant with the inauguration of a new injection molding facility and the commencement of an air conditioner (AC) production unit. The company has committed an investment of INR 10 billion between 2024 and 2028 for these expansions.

The new AC factory will have an annual production capacity of 2.5 million units, bringing the total capacity to 4 million units. The injection molding facility is expected to enhance the in-house production of key components, reducing reliance on imports and improving manufacturing efficiency.

According to the company, these expansions will generate approximately 3,500 additional jobs. Haier has previously invested INR 14 billion in Uttar Pradesh between 2019 and 2023, employing around 3,500 people in the state.

Haier India began manufacturing in the country in 2007 with its first facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The company established its Greater Noida plant following a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Uttar Pradesh government in 2019.

NS Satish, President of Haier Appliances India, stated that the expansion is part of the company’s effort to meet growing local demand and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.
