Bhagwati Products, the electronics manufacturing services arm of Micromax, is establishing two new factories in Greater Noida as part of its expansion strategy with Chinese partner Huaqin. The facilities will assemble smartphones, tablets, servers, and IoT devices, while also manufacturing components such as displays and mechanics, marking a shift into component-level production.

One of the new factories is expected to become operational within six months. The company has already expanded its existing facility acquired from Vivo, increasing capacity from 1 million to 4.5 million units annually. A third facility in Greater Noida is also planned, which the company expects will be its largest. The expansion is being funded through internal accruals, though investment details have not been disclosed.

Bhagwati currently supplies to brands including Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme, iQOO, Motorola, Acer, and Lenovo. The company has also begun exporting Lenovo-owned Motorola tablets to the United States and aims to use India as a production hub in partnership with Huaqin.

Plans are underway for joint ventures with Chinese electronics firms to manufacture components. Approvals are being sought under the government’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme for categories including displays and mechanics, which would allow access to incentives.

The company reported revenue of INR 62 billion in the last fiscal year and projects INR 150 billion for FY26. Smartphone production for Vivo and Oppo accounts for a significant portion of output, with Bhagwati maintaining a run rate of 2 million smartphones per month. The workforce has expanded from 1,000 to 10,200 employees at the Greater Noida site in under a year. Additionally, Bhagwati plans to invest USD 10 million in training and recruitment programmes in collaboration with Huaqin.

The company is targeting production of 25 million units by the end of 2025 across smartphones, tablets, wearables, and storage devices. It is also preparing to expand into R&D and design activities through original design manufacturing, in addition to contract assembly.

Bhagwati Products Limited is part of the Micromax Group and operates as its electronics manufacturing services division. The company engages in smartphone, tablet, and consumer electronics production, with growing interests in component manufacturing and export-led production.
