Knowlton Development Corporation Inc (kdc/one) and Clarion Group have announced a joint venture to establish a new manufacturing facility in the Gujarat region of India. The venture, named kdc/one Clarion Beauty Pvt Ltd, aims to expand packaging and formulation production for beauty and personal care products in the Indian market.
According to a press release issued by the companies, the new facility will be developed over the next 12 months and will focus on producing injection molded and metallized beauty packaging. The partnership combines Clarion’s local formulation knowledge and production base with kdc/one’s global manufacturing and innovation capabilities.
The agreement was signed in Chennai by Sandra Wisniewski, Global President of Beauty & Personal Care at kdc/one, and K N Lakshmanan, Chairman of the Clarion Group.
“This collaboration brings together our packaging design, development, and quality strengths, as well as Clarion’s local management and manufacturing expertise,” said Wisniewski.
“Our two companies not only have complementary manufacturing, formulation and packaging strengths in the beauty and personal care products sector, but we also share a commitment to providing the highest level of innovation, quality, service, agility and regulatory compliance,” said Lakshmanan.
The facility will manufacture components for colour cosmetics, skincare, and personal care products. The companies bring over 65 years of combined experience to the venture and plan to serve both domestic and international brand owners entering or expanding within the Indian market.
