Kores India Ltd, a manufacturer of industrial castings, has inaugurated a new manufacturing foundry in Halol, Gujarat. The facility spans 12,000 square meters of built up area and is equipped with a tight flask moulding system and a sand preparation plant. The moulding line includes pouring, cooling, and shakeout systems installed on a mezzanine floor.
The new foundry is part of Kores’ Halol Foundry Division. The installation was supported by design and engineering contributions from Shah & Talati and construction by Smith Structures (India) Pvt. Ltd.
The company’s foundry operations include nine dedicated high-pressure moulding lines, with casting capacities ranging from 80 grams to 1,000 kilograms using green sand and no-bake moulding processes. The total installed production capacity is 72,000 metric tonnes per year. Kores manufactures over 500 different components and serves more than 60 customers globally.
Machined casting development lead times range from six to eight weeks, while raw casting development typically takes four to six weeks. Materials used include ductile iron and alloyed cast iron. The company also employs a fully equipped machine shop with CNC turning centres, VMCs, and HMCs, and a design centre with flow simulation software across its facilities.
Kores India Ltd, established in 1978, operates across multiple sectors including automotive, off-highway, hydraulics, compressors, and engineering. The company’s foundry operations span three locations across 19 acres, producing castings for both domestic and international clients.
