Nidec India Private Limited, a manufacturer of electric motors, has commenced construction of a third building at its existing factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan. The company plans to invest approximately JPY 10 billion in the new facility, which will be used to manufacture automotive motors for electronic power steering motor power packs, park lock actuators, and electric water pumps.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 19, 2025, and was attended by Mitsuya Kishida, President and CEO of Nidec Corporation; Keiji Oshima, Managing Director of Nidec India; Keiichi Ono, Ambassador of Japan to India; Shivangi Swarnkar, Managing Director of RIICO; K. Karthikeyen, Vice President of Invest India; and Takashi Suzuki, Chief Director General of JETRO India.

The new building will cover a total floor area of 27,767 square meters and is scheduled for completion by September 2026. Once operational, it is expected to employ 600 people.

Currently, Nidec India produces motors for air conditioners in its first building and drive motors for electric bikes in its second building. The addition of the third building is aimed at expanding production capacity in response to increasing demand for automotive motors in India.

According to the company, domestic passenger car sales in India exceeded four million units in FY2023. While the penetration rate remains under 10%, the company sees potential for future market growth.

Nidec India Private Limited is a subsidiary of Nidec Corporation. The company manufactures and sells electric motors, with operations in multiple sectors including home appliances and automotive components.
