Musashi India, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Japan’s Musashi Seimitsu Industries, today announced an investment of INR 100 million in the first year to establish a new Musashi Technology Excellence Centre (MTEC) in Bengaluru at the Atria University Campus. The centre will specialise in energy storage systems and electric‑mobility technology.
The R&D centre will focus on testing and validating global technologies developed by Musashi’s international teams, while also enabling rapid prototyping and localisation for the Indian market. Its development is planned in phased expansions, with infrastructure and personnel to scale accordingly.
The centre plans to attract specialised talent—electrochemists, data scientists and other R&D professionals—to support its objectives. MTEC will leverage Musashi India’s automotive manufacturing infrastructure alongside Musashi Energy Solutions’ hybrid supercapacitor capabilities, with strategic direction from its Japanese parent.
In parallel with its R&D expansion, Musashi India also commenced a significant expansion of its existing Bengaluru plant. The company marked the auspicious beginning with a traditional Pooja ceremony, announcing a 10,800 square metre extension to the facility.
