Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. held a bhoomi-poojan (groundbreaking ceremony) for its new manufacturing facility in Harohalli, Bengaluru South District, Karnataka, on December 5, 2024. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion plans in India, targeting the growing demand for automotive components.
The facility, operated by Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd., will begin production in 2026. It is set to manufacture safety systems such as airbags and steering wheels, as well as interior and exterior automotive products like console boxes. The company aims to integrate automation technologies, including collaborative robots and energy-efficient electric molding machines, to enhance production efficiency.
The new plant complements Toyoda Gosei’s existing Techno Park Plant, which produces bumpers and instrument panels. Together, the facilities are designed to create an optimized production network across southern India, addressing the increased demand from Japanese automakers, who are major clients of the company.
Airbag production, a key focus of the new plant, aligns with the growing demand for safety systems driven by rising road safety awareness and the popularity of SUVs in the Indian market.
According to an update, this expansion is part of Toyoda Gosei’s strategy to strengthen its presence in India and enhance its automotive safety and production capabilities.
