ANDRITZ, a supplier of industrial technology, has secured a contract from Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) to provide electromechanical equipment for the 1,500 MW Tarali pumped storage plant in Satara district, Maharashtra, India. The project is part of India’s broader efforts to expand pumped storage capacity to balance increasing renewable energy generation from solar and wind sources.
Under the contract, ANDRITZ will design, manufacture, install, test, and commission pump turbines, motor generators, and related auxiliaries for the Tarali project. The company did not disclose the value of the order.
This is the second contract awarded by AGEL to ANDRITZ, following a previous order in 2023 for the 500 MW Chitravathi pumped storage plant. According to ANDRITZ, the equipment for the Tarali project will be manufactured at its facilities in India with support from its global operations.
ANDRITZ is currently working on four pumped storage plants in India.
