Garware Hi-Tech Films has begun commercial production of a new Paint Protection Film (PPF) line at its Waluj facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra. The project involved an investment of approximately INR 1.25 billion and the new line has an annual production capacity of 300 Lakh Square Feet (LSF). Production commenced on 24 September 2025.
The new PPF line is intended to support demand in both domestic and export markets. The Waluj plant is an ISO-certified facility hosting multiple film production lines, including sun control and paint protection films.
Garware Hi-Tech Films manufactures speciality polyester films, including products for automotive, packaging, and industrial applications. Garware Hi-Tech Films operates key manufacturing facilities in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, specifically in Waluj (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar) and Chikalthana. These ISO-certified plants are fully vertically integrated “chip-to-film” operations, producing a range of specialty polyester films.
The facilities include a polyester chips plant with a capacity of 66,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA), four BOPET film lines, extrusion coating and thermal lamination lines, metallising lines, dedicated sun control film plants for automotive, architectural, and safety applications, a Paint Protection Film (PPF) plant with an annual capacity of 300 LSF, a thermal lamination films plant with 3,600 MTPA capacity, and industrial product division plants with 42,000 MTPA capacity.
The company exports to over 80-100 countries, with exports contributing around 69 percent of its sales. Its product portfolio includes automotive and architectural sun control films, paint protection films, shrink label packaging films, electrical insulation films, and other specialty films. Garware is the sole manufacturer of Solar Control Window Films (SCF) in India.
Recent expansions include the INR 1.25 billion investment in a new PPF line at Waluj and an approved INR 1.18 billion investment for a TPU extrusion plant at the same facility. The TPU plant, expected to be commercially operational by October 2026, will have an annual capacity of 360 LSF. This backward integration strategy is designed to enhance manufacturing capability, cost efficiency, and support product innovation.
Garware Hi-Tech Films focuses on product development, operational efficiency, and expanding its range of value-added products, maintaining its position in the specialty polyester film market in India and internationally.
