Eduardo Almeida has been appointed Plant Director for Nidec Global Appliance’s new manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra. The plant, which is under construction, represents an investment of more than USD 120 million and will cover 55,000 square metres of built-up area. It is planned with an annual production capacity of six million Embraco compressors and is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs.
The facility will manufacture four series of Embraco compressors. These include the fixed-speed ES and EL models, suitable for residential refrigeration, with the ES model also available for commercial use. The variable-speed FMS and VLT models are designed for residential and commercial applications respectively.
The compressors use inverter technology to improve energy efficiency, reduce noise and vibration, maintain stable temperatures, and accelerate cooling recovery. The plant will also produce the inverters themselves, which regulate compressor speed according to cooling demand, enhancing the overall performance of refrigeration systems.
Nidec Global Appliance, part of Japan-based Nidec Corporation, develops and manufactures cooling solutions for refrigeration and air conditioning. Its product portfolio includes compressors, motors, and related components, supplied to residential, commercial, and industrial applications across various global markets.
