Nikkei MC Aluminium has announced the completion and commencement of operations at its new manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, through its Indian subsidiary Nikkei CMR Aluminium India Private Ltd. (NCAI). The plant, established as a joint venture, has an annual production capacity of 36,000 tons of aluminium alloys.

The facility was inaugurated on April 15 with approximately 100 attendees, including industry stakeholders and local and international representatives. The company intends to serve demand from automotive-related and other industries in the Pune region.

NCAI was established in December 2019. It is majority-owned by Nikkei MC Aluminium with a 60% stake, followed by CMR Green Technologies Ltd. (26%), Enkei Corporation (7%), and Enkei Wheels (India) Ltd. (7%). The company’s paid-up capital is 450 million INR.

The Pune-based venture is independent of Nikkei MC Aluminium’s earlier joint projects with CMR in Haryana and Gujarat.

The company stated that it will continue its manufacturing activities with an emphasis on sustainability and meeting regional demand.
