Tembo Defence, a subsidiary of Tembo Global Industries Limited, has received a comfort letter from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for the allocation of 100 acres of land in Amravati, near Nagpur. The company plans to establish an arms and ammunition manufacturing unit at the site.

According to Tembo Defence, the new facility is part of its expansion into the defence manufacturing sector and is expected to support domestic production. “This land allocation is a monumental step towards our vision of contributing to India’s self-reliance in the defence manufacturing sector. The upcoming facility will not only create significant employment opportunities in the region but also play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s defence infrastructure,” said Sanjay J Patel, Managing Director of Tembo Global Industries Ltd. Tembo Defence stated that the project is aligned with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and aims to enhance manufacturing capabilities in the sector.

Tembo Global Industries, incorporated in 2010, manufactures and assembles metal components for pipe support systems, fasteners, anchors, HVAC, anti-vibration systems, and other industrial and commercial equipment. The company also trades in metal products and specialises in the fabrication and installation of ductile pipes, HDB pipes and fittings, and MS plates. It is certified by Underwriter’s Laboratory Inc. (USA) and FM Approval (USA) for fire sprinkler system installations. Tembo has a presence in the export market, holds 2 Star Export House status, and has expanded into EPC contracting, textile trading, defence manufacturing, and solar power in recent years.
