Maruti Suzuki has exported more than 2,900 units of its battery electric vehicle, the e VITARA, from Gujarat to 12 European countries in August 2025. The shipments were sent from Pipavav Port to the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium.

The e VITARA is Maruti Suzuki’s first battery electric vehicle and is manufactured at the company’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, which has an annual production capacity of 750,000 vehicles. The facility is dedicated to electric vehicle production.

Maruti Suzuki has announced plans to manufacture about 70,000 units of the e VITARA in the next financial year (FY26). The company also intends to expand exports of the model to over 100 countries while continuing with domestic sales.

The vehicle was earlier previewed in Milan, Italy, and at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. Production was officially launched at the Hansalpur plant on 26 August 2025.
