Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), through its subsidiary Suzuki R&D Center India, has announced agreements with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Gujarat-based dairy cooperatives Amul Dairy and Dudhsagar Dairy to establish biogas production facilities in the state. These facilities aim to convert cow dung into automotive fuel.

The memorandums of understanding were signed at NDDB’s 60th anniversary celebration on October 22, attended by representatives from NDDB, Amul Dairy, Dudhsagar Dairy, and Suzuki. The event included NDDB Director S. Rajeev, Amul Dairy President Amit Vyas, Dudhsagar Dairy Executive Director Pravin Bhambi, and Suzuki Managing Officer Kenichiro Toyofuku.

As part of this partnership, Suzuki will work with NDDB and Banas Dairy, another cooperative in Banaskanta, to establish five biogas production plants. This effort represents an expansion of Suzuki’s biogas initiatives in Gujarat and aligns with the company’s goals of promoting sustainable fuel alternatives.
