Allied Blenders & Distillers Ltd (ABD) has inaugurated a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle manufacturing unit at its integrated complex in Rangapur, Telangana. The facility has an annual capacity of over 600 million bottles and is equipped with automation, robotics, energy-saving systems, and recycling technologies.

The unit was inaugurated by founder Kishore Rajaram Chhabria, alongside managing director Alok Gupta, executive director Arun Barik, guests, and employees. The facility is part of the company’s backward integration programme to strengthen self-reliance in manufacturing.

The Rangapur complex is one of ABD’s flagship sites and also includes an extra neutral alcohol distillery with an annual capacity of about 65 million litres, an Indian Made Foreign Liquor bottling unit, and an upcoming single malt whisky plant with a capital expenditure of approximately INR 750 million. The complex recently received regulatory approval to raise its grain spirit production capacity to 615 lakh bulk litres per year.

ABD operates distilleries with a total installed capacity of 71 million litres per annum (mlpa), with plans to expand this to 121 mlpa by FY27. The company owns nine bottling units and manages a wider network of 34 bottling plants, including both owned and contract-based facilities, across India.

The company also implements water recycling and bio-mass fuel handling at its Rangapur distillery and uses automation and energy-efficient technologies in its bottling operations.
