Premier Explosives Limited has received new orders worth INR 4.30 billion from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for the supply of chaffs and flares to the Indian Air Force. The company disclosed the development in a stock exchange filing dated 28 October 2025.
According to the filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), the total order value includes goods and services tax (GST) and will be executed within 12 months. The company stated that the contracts are domestic in nature and that neither the promoters nor any related entities have any interest in the awarding authority.
The order involves the production and supply of chaffs and flares—airborne countermeasure systems used to protect aircraft from radar-guided and infrared-seeking missiles. Chaffs function by dispersing metallic fibres that generate false radar signals, while flares release high-temperature decoys to divert heat-tracking threats. These systems are critical to improving the survivability of Indian Air Force fighter and transport aircraft in operational environments.
The company said the order aligns with India’s efforts to strengthen domestic defence manufacturing and reduce import dependence for critical aerospace protection systems.
Premier Explosives Limited, headquartered in Secunderabad, Telangana, manufactures solid propellants, explosives, and defence-related materials. Its product range includes rocket motors, chaffs, flares, and pyrotechnics supplied to the Indian Armed Forces, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and industrial customers in mining and infrastructure sectors.
