Balkrishna Industries Limited has completed one production line of its carbon black manufacturing facility at Bhuj, increasing the company’s total installed carbon black capacity to 265,000 tonnes per annum. The development forms part of a broader capital expenditure programme approved earlier for expanding manufacturing operations at the Bhuj site.
According to the company’s filing with the stock exchanges, the completion of the carbon black line was approved by the board of directors at its meeting held on 19 December 2025. The carbon black project was originally planned for completion by early 2026, with the remaining phases progressing as per schedule.
The carbon black facility is part of a larger capital expenditure plan of approximately INR 3.5 billion spread over three years, which was approved by the board in May 2025. The planned investments at Bhuj include additional production facilities for carbon black, commercial vehicle tyres, passenger car radial tyres, rubber tracks, and a power plant.
In the same board meeting, the company also approved several changes to its board composition, subject to shareholder approval. Arvind Poddar was approved for re-appointment as chairman and managing director for a further five-year term with effect from 1 August 2026. The board also approved the appointment of Natarajan Gnanaskandan Tanjore as an independent director for a five-year term beginning 1 February 2026, and Ashok Saraf as a non-executive non-independent director with effect from the same date.
Balkrishna Industries Limited manufactures off-highway tyres for sectors including agriculture, construction, earthmoving, mining, and industrial applications. The company operates manufacturing facilities in India and supplies products to domestic and international markets.
