CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited commissioned a new 800 kilovolt (kV) manufacturing shop, expanding its ultra-high-voltage (UHV) manufacturing capability for transmission equipment. The facility is dedicated to the assembly, processing, and packaging of 800 kV bushings and includes the commissioning of a large autoclave, aimed at improving throughput, quality consistency, and delivery reliability for grid-scale applications.

The commissioning on 12 December 2005 was attended by representatives from Power Grid Corporation of India and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, highlighting continued collaboration with public-sector utilities and equipment manufacturers involved in high-voltage transmission projects.

The expansion is aligned with rising investment in transmission infrastructure required to support increasing renewable energy capacity and long-distance power evacuation. The new UHV shop forms part of a broader programme to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities across transformers, switchgear, and semiconductors.

CG Power is undertaking a substantial scale-up of its transformer manufacturing capacity. Foundation work has begun and key machinery and construction vendors have been mobilised for a large transformer facility at Sehore near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, designed for a single-location capacity of 45,000 megavolt-amperes (MVA).

In parallel, the company has approved a greenfield expansion of its switchgear business with an investment of INR 7.48 billion to address demand for medium- and extra-high-voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers, and gas-insulated switchgear.

CG Power launched an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility at Sanand in Gujarat during the period. The facility is expected to operate at a peak capacity of 0.5 million units per day, supporting domestic supply of semiconductors used in power electronics, drives, and control systems relevant to energy and industrial applications.

Financially, the company reported sales of INR 26.49 billion for the second quarter of FY26, up 17 percent year on year, and INR 52.93 billion for the first half, an increase of 21 percent compared with the same period last year. Profit before tax rose 37 percent year on year in the quarter to INR 4.09 billion, while first-half profit before tax increased 27 percent to INR 7.92 billion. Order intake stood at INR 42.10 billion in Q2 FY26 and INR 89.74 billion for H1 FY26, with an order backlog of INR 135.68 billion as of 30 September 2025.

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited manufactures power equipment, industrial machines, and automation systems across transformers, switchgear, motors, drives, and electronics, serving utilities, infrastructure developers, and industrial customers in India and overseas.
