Jigar Cables Limited approved the setting up of a new manufacturing facility at Gomta in Rajkot district, Gujarat, as part of an expansion of its product portfolio into higher-voltage and specialised cable segments. The decision was taken by the company’s board at its meeting held on 31 December 2025 and marks a step toward broadening its manufacturing capabilities and addressing evolving domestic demand.
The new unit will manufacture Medium Voltage Control Cables, High Tension cables, and Power and Control Cables. The facility will be located on industrial land and a factory building acquired earlier at Gomta, near Rajkot.
Commercial production from the new facility is expected to begin within one to three months, subject to the completion of equipment installation and trial runs. The installed capacity for the new products is projected at 500 kilometres per month, with utilisation to be ramped up progressively in line with market demand.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening Jigar Cables’ manufacturing base and enabling the company to offer a wider range of electrical wires and cables to domestic customers. The new products fall under the electrical wires and cables category and are intended exclusively for the Indian market at this stage, with no international launches planned.
The company stated that the additional capacity and product diversification are expected to support future growth by allowing it to address a broader set of applications in power distribution and industrial control systems. The move also reflects a broader trend among small and mid-sized cable manufacturers to move into higher-value segments as infrastructure spending and industrial electrification increase.
Jigar Cables Limited is an India-based manufacturer of electrical wires and cables, operating under the Sigma brand, with manufacturing facilities in Gujarat and a focus on supplying power and control cable solutions to the domestic market.
