Healthium Medtech, a precision medtech company based at Sri City, has expanded its manufacturing capacity with the inauguration of a new facility at its existing campus. The expansion is aimed at increasing output of medical devices and strengthening local manufacturing for both domestic and export markets.

Healthium Medtech has been operating at Sri City since 2012 through its special economic zone unit, where it manufactures sutures and meshes. With the commissioning of the expanded facility, the company has increased its monthly production capacity from 130 thousand dozens to 280 thousand dozens. In medical device manufacturing, capacity is often expressed in dozens because of how products are packed, counted, and traded.

The expanded unit will manufacture wound closure devices, surgical sutures, meshes and other advanced medical products.

The additional capacity is intended to support healthcare self-reliance by increasing local production of precision medical devices and reducing dependence on imports. The expansion is also expected to improve the availability of medical technologies for patients in India as well as in international markets.

The new facility was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Anish Bafna in the presence of Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy and other guests. The expansion represents a significant scale-up of its long-standing operations at Sri City.

The expanded facility will cater to Healthium Medtech’s global customer base, with products marketed in India and exported to more than 90 countries across Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
