Varex Imaging India, manufacturer of X-ray imaging components, has initiated construction of a new manufacturing unit at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam. The facility will focus on the deposition of Cesium Iodide (CsI), a specialized process used in the production of medical imaging detectors.
The new unit will be located adjacent to Varex Imaging’s existing flat panel detector manufacturing line at AMTZ. According to the company, the expansion is part of its ongoing efforts to increase localization of imaging technologies in India.
The company said the project aligns with its goal of manufacturing trusted imaging components domestically using Indian talent. Varex Imaging India also acknowledged support from AMTZ and internal teams during the project’s groundbreaking.
Varex Imaging India is a subsidiary of Varex Imaging Corporation, a global supplier of X-ray imaging components such as digital detectors, X-ray sources, and related technologies. The company serves multiple sectors including medical diagnostics, industrial inspection, and security.
