Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bellatrix Aerospace Private Limited to collaborate on the design, development, and manufacturing of satellite systems and payloads. The partnership will focus on developing satellite platforms designed for operations in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO).

The collaboration combines BEL’s experience in developing electronics and mission-critical payloads for defence and strategic applications with Bellatrix Aerospace’s capabilities in satellite propulsion and satellite subsystems. The two companies aim to develop integrated satellite solutions for strategic and civilian space missions.

The partnership is intended to strengthen indigenous capabilities in satellite platform development for VLEO operations by integrating propulsion technologies, subsystems, and payload expertise from both organisations. The companies said the collaboration is expected to accelerate innovation in next-generation satellite systems.

The MoU was exchanged between Rashmi Kathuria, General Manager (SCCS) and Unit Head of BEL’s Ghaziabad unit, and Rohan M. Ganapathy, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Bellatrix Aerospace. The exchange took place in the presence of Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of BEL; K. V. Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing); Kamesh Kasana, Director (Other Units); Niti Pandit, General Manager (Strategic Planning); and Chinnappa Rajappa Patil, Chief Scientist at BEL’s Central Research Laboratory in Bengaluru.
