Avantel Limited, a provider of communication and technology solutions, has received domestic defence manufacturing orders worth INR 247.3 million from Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), increasing its order book to INR 2.87 billion.

Mazagon Dock awarded the company a contract worth INR 110.6 million (inclusive of taxes) for product deliveries scheduled between April 2026 and August 2029. The agreement includes a performance bank guarantee of 5 percent.

Separately, Avantel received a contract valued at INR 136.7 million (inclusive of taxes) from the Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory (DEAL), a DRDO unit. This order is expected to be completed by August 2027 and requires a 3 percent performance bank guarantee.

According to the company’s Q4 FY25 financial results, net sales rose 18 percent year-on-year to INR 492.6 million, while net profit declined 50 percent to INR 60.9 million. For the full fiscal year, net sales increased by 11 percent to INR 2,491.3 million, and net profit rose 7 percent to INR 564.5 million.

Founded in 1990 by Vidyasagar Abburi, Avantel provides communication and technology solutions for the defence and aerospace sectors. The company is headquartered in Visakhapatnam, with a corporate office in Hyderabad. Its product offerings include SATCOM systems, radar subsystems, software-defined radios, and other defence electronics.
