UST and Kaynes Semicon have entered into a joint venture to set up a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, with an investment of Rs 33.3 billion. The partnership aims to develop an OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility to support the production of electronics for electric vehicles, renewables, and consumer technology.

The collaboration combines Kaynes Semicon’s semiconductor manufacturing experience with UST’s capabilities in digital engineering, AI-driven process improvements, and testing. The facility will provide assembly and testing services for domestic and international clients.

“Our partnership with UST brings together world-class manufacturing and digital engineering expertise. This enables Kaynes Semicon to deliver advanced OSAT solutions while strengthening India’s self-reliant semiconductor ecosystem,” said Raghu Panicker, Chief Executive Officer of Kaynes Semicon.

“This ambitious partnership between UST and Kaynes Semicon will help shape the future of semiconductor manufacturing in India. We are proud to participate in the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” stated Krishna Sudheendra, Chief Executive Officer of UST.

Kaynes Semicon is a wholly owned semiconductor subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Ltd, which was incorporated in 2008. Kaynes Technology provides end-to-end integrated electronics manufacturing and IoT solutions and is listed on the BSE and NSE in India.
