Ramkrishna Forgings Limited has commenced commercial production at its aluminium forging facility at Plant V in Baliguma village, Saraikela-Kharsawan district of Kolabira, Jharkhand, with effect from 20 January 2026. The new unit has an installed production capacity of 3,000 tonnes per annum and represents the company’s entry into aluminium forging.

Ramkrishna Forgings stated that the project is aimed at enabling the company to enter a new forging segment. The aluminium forging facility is also intended to support the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the electric vehicle market, where aluminium forgings are used for weight-sensitive applications.

The company disclosed that the total investment required for the aluminium forging project is INR 575 million. The investment has been funded through a mix of debt and internal accruals. No separate breakdown of debt and internal funding was provided.

The company did not have any existing aluminium forging capacity prior to this project, and there was no capacity utilisation in this segment earlier. The entire 3,000 tonnes per annum capacity has been added with effect from 20 January 2026, following the start of commercial production at the facility.
