Legrand inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Nashik on 21 January 2026, expanding its industrial footprint in India and strengthening its production base for domestic and international markets. The plant covers more than 30,000 square metres and represents Legrand’s largest manufacturing facility in India and one of its largest globally.

The Nashik facility will manufacture busbar trunking systems, distribution boards, racks, Cablofil cable trays, and industrial plugs and sockets. A significant portion of the production is intended for solutions serving the data centre segment, which the company identified as a strategic growth area across its global operations.

The company stated that the plant has been designed to serve both the Indian market and overseas customers. Exports of select product categories have already commenced, with plans to extend international shipments to additional product lines over time. Legrand said the Nashik unit is positioned as a supply hub aligned with its “Made in India, Made for the World” manufacturing strategy.

The expansion also builds on Legrand India’s broader data centre portfolio, which has been developed through a combination of internal capacity additions and acquisitions. The company noted that the integration of acquired capabilities, including rack and enclosure systems, enables it to offer a wider range of power distribution and digital infrastructure solutions from a single manufacturing base.

Sustainability measures have been incorporated into the design and operation of the Nashik facility. The building has received certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and is equipped with a rooftop solar power system with a capacity of 1 megawatt. The plant follows a zero liquid discharge policy for water management, according to the company.

Legrand said it will deploy automated manufacturing systems and quality control processes at the site to ensure products meet its internal specifications and applicable international standards. The company added that the facility is intended to support long-term capacity requirements and improve supply reliability for customers in India and export markets.

“We are pleased to inaugurate the Nashik manufacturing facility, which represents an important milestone in Legrand India’s journey,” said Tony Berland, CEO and Managing Director, Group Legrand India. “This project reflects the dedication of our teams and partners, and our continued focus on building long-term capabilities in India. We look forward to the value this facility will create for our customers, employees and stakeholders, both in India and across global markets,” he added.

Legrand India is the Indian subsidiary of the Legrand Group and manufactures electrical and digital infrastructure products for residential, commercial, industrial, and data centre applications, serving both domestic and export markets.
