Winoa-2Effe, the joint venture between Winoa and 2-Effe Engineering, has completed one year of operations at its shot peening center in Pune, India. Since its inauguration in June 2024, the facility has expanded its technical capabilities and team while focusing on strengthening its machine base and quality systems.
Looking ahead, Winoa-2Effe is prioritizing two initiatives: expanding its machine base to improve production capacity and customer responsiveness, and pursuing NABL accreditation to further enhance its quality management practices following ISO 9001 certification.
Key milestones during the year included the completion of facility construction in April 2024, the inauguration in July, ISO 9001 certification in November (subject to verification), and the launch of residual stress analysis (XRD) services in February 2025. The center also completed its first customer project in December 2024.
As of January 2025, the workforce grew from 2 to 15 personnel, including 7 full-time employees and 8 external contractors. The company conducted specialized training for team members, with Rehan Ahmad (Quality Manager) and Jagdish Kokate (Workshop Manager) completing an FAA-recognized shot peening course organized by MFN in Mumbai.
The Pune facility has provided shot peening services to 14 clients across sectors such as automotive, defence, oil and gas, mining, and urban transportation. One of its recent projects reportedly involved processing large transmission components for the Pune Metro project in collaboration with Siemens, though this has not been independently confirmed.
Winoa is a surface preparation company that provides steel abrasives and technical services for industries such as automotive, construction, and energy. The Winoa-2Effe venture was established to serve industrial clients in India with localized shot peening and surface treatment capabilities.
