Carraro India Limited, a manufacturer of industrial machinery, has announced expansion initiatives at its manufacturing plants in Ranjangaon, Pune, as part of its FY25 investor update. The company currently operates two plants—one for drivelines and another for gears—with a combined production capacity utilization of over 75 percent.
The driveline plant, which produced 86,551 axles and 38,323 transmission systems in FY25, has a plot area of approximately 84,000 square metres. The expansion plan includes a warehouse spanning around 12,870 square metres and two portal assembly lines covering 1,800 square metres each. The gear plant, spread across 78,000 square metres, will be expanded with a manufacturing shop spanning 1,486 square metres, and a heat treatment shop spanning 1,579 square metres.
Future expansion plans at the site also include leveraging approximately 38,000 square metres of available free space for potential capacity additions. The company highlighted in-house gear production capabilities, low rejection rates (0.6 percent in FY25), and proximity to key suppliers as operational advantages.
Carraro India reported a capital expenditure of INR 515 million in FY25, allocated for new product introductions and process upgrades. This includes a new axle line for telescopic handlers and high-performance transmission systems for agricultural applications, aimed at boosting incremental capacity for FY26.
Carraro India Limited, part of the Italy-based Carraro Group, supplies axles, transmission systems, and gears for agricultural and construction equipment. With two manufacturing plants and one R&D centre in India, the company serves domestic and international OEMs.
