Fujiyama Power Systems Limited has commissioned a 1 gigawatt solar cell manufacturing plant at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, expanding its backward integration across the solar manufacturing value chain. The facility is intended to support the company’s captive requirements for solar panel production and reduce dependence on imported solar cells.

The Dadri facility has a manufacturing capacity of 1 gigawatt and will produce mono passivated emitter and rear contact (PERC) domestic content requirement (DCR) solar cells. The company stated that the entire output from the new plant will be used for internal consumption, aligning the solar cell capacity with its existing module manufacturing operations.

The Dadri solar cell plant has been aligned with Fujiyama’s existing manufacturing footprint. The company currently operates a total solar panel manufacturing capacity of 1.6 gigawatts, of which 1.2 gigawatts is located at Dadri. The addition of in-house solar cell manufacturing is expected to improve supply-chain visibility and cost control across the company’s operations.

The manufacturing facility has been completed with a total investment of INR 3 billion. The company said the project was funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt and was executed over a period of six months.

“The commissioning of our solar cell manufacturing facility at Dadri represents a significant step in strengthening Fujiyama’s manufacturing integration,” said Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Fujiyama Power Systems Limited. “By bringing solar cell production in-house, we are improving visibility and control across the value chain, reducing reliance on imported cells and improving supply reliability for our solar panel operations,” Garg said.

The company added that the mono PERC DCR solar cells manufactured at the facility will enable it to address domestic demand linked to government subsidy-supported rooftop solar programmes. Fujiyama stated that its business is primarily focused on the domestic market, with limited export exposure, and that the integrated facility helps mitigate risks related to global trade and tariff disruptions.

Fujiyama Power Systems Limited is a provider of rooftop solar solutions in India, with a product portfolio spanning solar panels, inverters, lithium-ion and tubular batteries, chargers, and power electronics. The company operates multiple manufacturing facilities across Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana and serves Indian households through a domestic distribution and service network.
