AXISCADES Technologies Limited has signed an agreement with French space technology company Aldoria for the provision of an optical station to support the deployment of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) capabilities in India. The initial station is scheduled for deployment in 2026, followed by a phased expansion to more than a dozen stations by 2031.

The agreement was signed at the Embassy of France in New Delhi in the presence of Eléonore Caroit, Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, as part of the delegation of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, to India. The agreement is intended to enhance India’s capability in Space Situational Awareness.

The contract covers two core components: optical stations based on a standard-components architecture and associated software required to operate and scale a distributed network. The phased rollout will begin with a pilot station deployed with initial support, including maintenance and critical spare parts over a defined period.

All systems beyond the pilot phase are to be delivered from AXISCADES’ Devanahalli Atmanirbhar Complex facility located at the Bangalore Aerospace Park near Kempegowda International Airport. The agreement also provides for gradual training and knowledge transfer to enable AXISCADES to independently manage SSA capabilities.

“This is a significant partnership that brings advanced European Space Situational Awareness technology to India. By integrating optical stations and specialised software for Indian needs, this collaboration provides timely support for our space and defence goals with real-time tracking and risk assessment of strategic orbital assets,” said Sampath Ravinarayan, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of AXISCADES Technologies Limited.

“This agreement aligns with Aldoria’s mission: to deliver independent, reliable, and actionable SSA. Operation Sindoor underscored just how central space capabilities – and the data that comes with them – have become to today’s security challenges. By combining our software and C2 expertise with AXISCADES’ integration capabilities, we are building a step-by-step roadmap tailored to India’s needs, backed by a structured transfer of skills,” said Romain Lucken, Chief Executive Officer of Aldoria.

Aldoria collects, processes and exploits data related to space situational awareness to monitor space debris and satellites for institutional, military and commercial customers.
