Airbus (AIR.PA) hosted its first-ever Sustainable Supply Chain Conference in Bengaluru last week. The event brought together the company’s supply chain partners to discuss the future of supply chain resilience and sustainability in India. The event, aimed at fostering collaboration, featured in-depth discussions on sustainable practices and innovation within the aerospace industry.
The conference focused on exploring new strategies to strengthen the supply chain and align with shared sustainability goals.
“At Airbus, we are committed to advancing sustainable solutions across all aspects of our operations,” said Thierry Cloutet, Regional Procurement Officer for India and South Asia at Airbus. “Our collaboration with local suppliers is essential in fostering a responsible and resilient supply chain that meets our environmental and operational objectives.”
Earlier this year, Remi Maillard, President & MD, Airbus India had said that Airbus plans to double procurement from India to $1.5 billion from $750 million. He had stated that Airbus was procuring $75 million worth components from India annually.
A distinguished lineup of speakers, including Jürgen Westermeier, Rémi Maillard, Julien Manhes, and Emile Colongo, provided valuable insights into the integration of best practices and cutting-edge technologies to improve supply chain efficiency. The panel discussions featured prominent experts such as Jayakrishnan S, Udayant Toby Malhoutra, Krittivas Mukherjee, and Aruna Newton who shared their perspectives on how innovation and streamlined processes can enhance sustainability across the supply chain.
