Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. has announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Harohalli, Bengaluru South District, Karnataka, as part of its expansion in the country’s growing automobile sector. The new plant, operated by Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd., will begin production in 2026, focusing on safety systems such as airbags and steering wheels, as well as interior and exterior automotive products like console boxes.
The facility’s establishment aligns with increasing demand for these components, driven primarily by the expansion of Japanese automakers, Toyoda Gosei’s key clients, in India. The plant will utilize automation technology combining collaborative robots and energy-efficient electric molding machines to optimize production processes.
In addition to the new Harohalli facility, Toyoda Gosei plans to expand production at its existing Techno Park Plant, which manufactures bumpers and instrument panels. This move is aimed at creating an optimized production network across southern India.
Airbag production, a core part of Toyoda Gosei’s business, is expected to meet rising demand as India’s automobile market grows. The expansion comes amid increasing road safety concerns and the growing popularity of SUVs, with automakers boosting their production capacities to cater to this trend.
The company’s operations in India are part of its broader strategy to support automotive safety and enhance production capabilities in the region.
