Ford Motor Company has inaugurated a technology-focused office at Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru, as part of its strategy to enhance digital capabilities in India. This new facility complements Ford’s existing Global Capability Center (GCC) in Chennai, which currently employs approximately 12,000 individuals.

The Bengaluru office, an extension of the Chennai GCC, has a seating capacity for around 350 employees, with approximately 75 professionals currently working from this location. The primary objective behind opening this office is to tap into specialized and high-demand skills, focusing on building advanced digital capabilities, including cybersecurity, DevSecOps, DevOps, and artificial intelligence, which are critical for Ford’s global technology initiatives.

Over the next four years, starting in 2025, Ford plans to onboard 2,000 more professionals in India, underscoring the country’s significant role in the company’s global operations. Currently, about 40% of Ford’s workforce in India is engaged in tech-related roles, while another 30% contributes to product development and engineering, including manufacturing engineering. Notably, half of Ford’s global enterprise tech team operates from India, further underscoring the country’s importance in the company’s digital transformation strategy.

The Manyata Tech Park, where the new office is located, is a software technology park in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The park is situated in Nagawara on Outer Ring Road and has a building area of 9.8 million square feet, spread over 300 acres. As of November 2017, it housed a workforce of more than 150,000 professionals.

This expansion into Bengaluru allows Ford to attract top talent in advanced digital fields, supporting the company’s global technology initiatives and reinforcing its commitment to innovation and collaboration.
