A new facility for the repair, overhaul, and upgrade of High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) has been established at BEML’s HMV manufacturing division in Palakkad, Kerala. The facility is aimed at meeting the growing needs for maintenance and modernization of in-service HMVs, commonly used by the Indian Armed Forces.
The facility was officially inaugurated on October 9 by Air Marshal Chakalayil Rajappa Mohan, Air Officer in-charge of Maintenance for the Indian Air Force. The event also saw the participation of Ajit Kumar Srivastav, Director of Defence at BEML, along with other senior officials.
In addition to commencing overhauling and upgrade activities, the inauguration included the unveiling of new inventory stores. The facility is expected to improve operational efficiency and extend the lifecycle of HMVs used by the defense forces.
The establishment of the facility is part of broader efforts to support India’s defense sector with enhanced maintenance and modernization capabilities.
