Revalyu Resources has commissioned a second chemical PET recycling plant at its Nashik site in India. With an investment of $100 million, the facility increases the site’s total production capacity to 280 tonnes per day by 2025, making it a significant development in plastic recycling.
The Nashik facility currently processes over 20 million post-consumer PET bottles daily, converting them into 160 tonnes of recycled PET chips and polymer. The new plant adds 120 tonnes per day to this capacity, and an additional 120-tonne plant is scheduled to begin operations by the third quarter of 2025. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to recycle 35 million bottles daily.
The site utilizes patented glycolysis-based recycling technology that reduces water usage by 75% and energy consumption by 91% compared to conventional methods. This technology produces virgin-grade recycled PET suitable for use in packaging, textiles, and automotive applications.
The company has announced plans to establish a US-based facility with a capacity of 240 tonnes per day by 2027 and aims to reach a global production capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day by 2030 through strategic collaborations.
