The Ministry of Civil Aviation held a high-level meeting to review and advance aircraft component manufacturing in India. The meeting, chaired by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, included senior government officials such as Civil Aviation Secretary V. Vualnam, Airports Authority of India Chairman Vipin Kumar, and Director General of Civil Aviation Faiz Ahmed. Representatives from industry associations, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) companies, and research institutions also participated.
Discussions focused on strengthening domestic production capabilities and expanding India’s role in the global aircraft component supply chain. The meeting addressed the need for skill development, infrastructure enhancement, and regulatory streamlining to support the industry’s growth.
The minister emphasized the importance of creating an integrated ecosystem covering design, manufacturing, maintenance, certification, and collaboration between ministries and industry stakeholders. He highlighted efforts to enhance market access for Indian component manufacturers and leverage the supply chain network of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to expand indigenous production.
Vualnam noted that the government plans to hold regular consultations with industry stakeholders to facilitate continuous feedback and policy development. The meeting concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to strengthening India’s aircraft component manufacturing sector through strategic partnerships and technology adoption.
The discussions form part of broader government initiatives to enhance India’s aerospace industry and increase its contribution to the global aviation supply chain. According to the ministry, further engagement with industry players will continue to shape policy measures aimed at making the sector more competitive.
