Micro Age Instruments Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Kinetic Group, has established a battery manufacturing facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, with an annual production capacity of 60,000 units. The facility has been developed with an investment of Rs. 50 crores.

The company has introduced a new battery brand, Range-X, targeting two- and three-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs). The production line will manufacture Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries. According to the company, the facility features an automated production line equipped with IoT-enabled POKE-YOKE systems and stage-wise inspections to ensure precision, quality, and adherence to industry standards such as AIS 156 and AIS 004.

The company plans to supply these batteries to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as well. Additionally, the facility is developing prismatic cells for three-wheelers.

Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, stated that the facility is aligned with the growth of India’s EV sector. Industry projections indicate that the Indian EV market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28.52%, reaching USD 18.319 billion by 2029.

Kinetic Group is also focusing on advanced technology and localization of the Battery Management System (BMS), aligning with the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
