LANXESS has inaugurated its India Application Development Centre (IADC) in Thane, Mumbai, expanding its research and customer service capabilities. The facility, located at LANXESS House, will initially support two business units with provisions for future expansion.

The IADC will focus on lubricant additives and material protection products, including high-performance additives, synthetic base fluids, antimicrobial solutions, and disinfection technologies. The facility will conduct studies on lubricant friction and wear, develop and test new materials, and evaluate antimicrobial performance in various applications such as paints and emulsions.

The company stated that India is a key market for its operations, citing its industrial growth and expanding consumer base. The IADC is expected to enhance LANXESS’ ability to develop solutions tailored to local market needs.

LANXESS has a presence across 10 business units in India and employs approximately 800 people. It operates two manufacturing facilities—one in Jhagadia, Gujarat, which focuses on Rhein Chemie products, liquid purification technologies, and material protection solutions, and another in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh, specializing in flavours and fragrances.

The company reported global sales of EUR 6.7 billion in 2023 and employs about 12,400 people across 32 countries.
