MBDA will participate in Aero India 2025, scheduled from February 10 to 14 in Bengaluru, where it will exhibit its missile systems and highlight ongoing collaborations with Indian defense industry partners. The company will be present in Hall B at Stand B3.1.
MBDA has worked with the Indian Armed Forces for over five decades, collaborating with domestic industrial partners, including its joint venture L&T MBDA Missile Systems Ltd, Bharat Dynamics Limited, and various small and medium enterprises. The company reports that more than 50,000 MBDA-designed missiles have been produced in India in partnership with local industries.
At the exhibition, MBDA will display a range of missile systems integrated with the Indian Air Force’s Dassault Rafale aircraft, including the Meteor beyond visual range air-to-air missile. According to MBDA, the Meteor missile is powered by a rocket-ramjet motor, providing extended operational range and a larger no-escape zone compared to other air-to-air missiles.
Also on display will be the ASRAAM air combat missile, which has been integrated with Jaguar and Tejas combat aircraft. MBDA states that this missile enhances the close-combat capabilities of these aircraft.
In the naval sector, MBDA will present the Sea Ceptor naval air defense system, which is being offered to the Indian Navy for its Vertical Launch Short-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL SRSAM) requirement. The company indicates that Sea Ceptor features advanced technologies designed to protect naval platforms and escorted vessels from aerial threats.
L&T MBDA Missile Systems Ltd, MBDA’s joint venture with Larsen & Toubro, will also participate in the exhibition, showcasing its manufacturing and development activities in Coimbatore. The company is engaged in multiple defense projects, including the VL SRSAM system and the ATGM5 anti-tank missile, which has been proposed as a next-generation battlefield missile designed, developed, and manufactured in India.
MBDA’s participation in Aero India 2025 underscores its ongoing collaborations with Indian defense firms and its involvement in domestic defense manufacturing initiatives.
